Myths about Ghee

FACT

Ghee has the right amount of MUFA (Monounsaturated Fatty Acids) – the good fat as per RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) that keeps you healthy. Further, Ghee prevents formation of plaques thereby making the heart strong. A research conducted on the rural population in India revealed that people who consumed higher amounts of Ghee had significantly lower prevalence of heart diseases. In fact, in the ancient scriptures of Ayurveda, a whole list of benefits of consuming Ghee, in recommended proportions, on a daily basis have been highlighted.

Ghee prepared from desi cow milk contains CLA (Conjugated Lenoleic Acid) which promotes weight loss and not weight gain. Hence, about 3 – 4 tea spoons of ghee per day is in fact considered to keep you fit.

Though created from milk, Ghee does not contain Lactose and other Milk Solids. Therefore, it is very safe for Lactose intolerant people to consume Ghee without any issues.
